Emma Richards Family Favourite Awards Exeter judgeEmma Richards is the creator of Cherub Chews a business she set up when her now four year old was a small baby.

Cherub Chews was created in 2013 when Emma found her son grabbing at her skin and hair while she was feeding and babywearing. After searching for a necklace to help aid in distracting him to save her poor skin and hair.  All she could find on the market were silicone and plastic necklaces, which weren’t her. She set about creating her own.

After spending months sourcing materials and designing her first necklaces, safety testing went underway and she was ready to launch.

Each necklace is handmade in Exeter, in her private studio after being crocheted by a small team of ladies.  They were the first wood and crochet nursing necklace that passed current EU testing.

Cherub Chews has grown dramatically over the last 3 years to include more teething and baby wearing products and recently baby wearing themed apparel for babies and children, and soon mummy merch. Since 2014 Emma has placed or won over 28 local and national business awards and most recently was named as one of  the top 100 mumpreneurs in the country.

Emma Richards Family Favourite Awards Exeter judgeIn her spare time Emma spends time with her husband and two children Oakley and Wilomina, spending days at the park and local attractions. Emma is also very  active in the local baby wearing  community.  She vollunteers her time to help new parents at the Exeter Sling Library with the fantastic Gill Travis, helping new mums and dads find the perfect carrier for them and their children. Most recently she trained to be a baby wearing consultant and breastfeeding peer supporter.
