This month’s Exeter Sling Meet will take place on Friday 10th May, 10.30-12noon, at Cafe Renslade, Renslade House - the big office block on Exe Bridges (directions below).

This is an open event so everyone is welcome, whether you are an expectant parent wanting to find out about slings, you are an experienced babywearer who is happy to share your knowledge or you just want to meet up with other parents.

Private sellers are welcome to bring slings and baby carriers along for sale too – it is up to individuals to come to arrangements between themselves, Exeter Sling Meet can’t get involved, sorry.

Arabella will be there with a selection of slings for you to try out and lots of other parents bring theirs too so there is lots to see!

Cafe Renslade is in Renslade House, on Exe Bridges.  If you are driving, there is limited free parking at the back of the building - come off Exe Bridges and follow the signs to the carpark off Tudor Street. 

There are LOTS of buses that pass near Renslade House – A, E, F, P for a start.  If you are coming from town, get off on New Bridge St and carry on down the hill and you will see Renslade House in front of you.

Trains – Cafe Renslade is about 5 minutes walk from St Thomas Train Station, 15 mins from Central and (I guess) 30 from St Davids?

Very excited to see the email popping into my inbox saying that the new Ice Cream Parlour and Summer Meadow at Taverners Farm opens on Friday 29th March and will be open every day over half term.

They will then be open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday through term time and then every day for bank holidays and school holidays.

For those that have driven past the big plastic orange elephant hundreds of times but not pulled off – it really is worth a trip.  The ice cream is lovely and comes from their own herd of “orange elephants” a particular breed of red cow.

There is a small charge for the Summer Meadow (£10 per year for a family) but it is worth it as you can visit as many times as you like. 

There is so much space to play, lots of climbing and wooden play equipment, huge sandpit and of course all the animals to see.  Both girls love it there.

Our Summer meadow membership season runs from Friday 29th March – 1st October Weather permitting. The cost is £10 per family of 4 and for this you get free entry all summer to the meadow as well as £10 worth of Ice Cream or Coffee credits to spend in the Ice Cream Parlour.

Taverners is nestled in the beautiful Haldon Valley, with stunning views that look up to the impressive Castle of Haldon Belvedere, and the farm fits right into the picturesque landscape.

In the Summer Meadow, you can explore our farm, meeting our free range chickens, calves, and our pet sheep Tibby. There’s fun available for all ages, as children can play on the swings, see saws and in the newly built adventure play ground just across the river.

An Elephant Maize Maze is planted in the spring to be enjoyed by all in August and September!

Our friendly group meets regularly so you can pop in once for advice and then find yourself coming back week after week.

We will meet on Tuesday 26th March at 1.30-3.30 at the Hub on the Green, 8 Cathedral Close, just down from ASK Pizza on Cathedral Green.

The group is part funded by Devon Real Nappy Project but we do ask for a £1 donation to help with the room hire if you can.

Due to the super new floor being laid over Easter, there will be no groups at the Hub (including Babyccino and NCT) over the holidays.

The next baby group at the Hub will be on 16th April, which will be Real Nappy Week.

Real Nappy Week 2013

This year Real Nappy Week will run from 15th-21st April and has the theme of ‘Real Nappies… Real Change!” to encourage parents to help spread the word about just how fab cloth nappies are.

Go Real, the nationwide nappy forum that Natural Nursery is a member of says:
