Half term at Exeter CathedralWe’ve attended a few of the activities over Half term at Exeter Cathedral before and always enjoyed them.  You can book online and they all take place at the Chapter House which is just behind the Cathedral.  Go through the gate where the Cathedral Cafe is and you will see the Chapter House just in front of you.

Date: Monday 24th October

Event: Harry Potter themed crafts

Blurb: Join us to celebrate the magic of Harry Potter in the amazing space of the Chapter House. Imagine that you are in the Great Hall of Hogwarts and take part in a range of themed crafts. Get ‘sorted’ as you arrive, and make a banner to support your house! Feeling energetic? Grab some friends and have a game of ‘Quidditch’ in the Cloister Garden. Feel free to come dressed up as your favourite character.

Times: 11:00 – 15:00

Price: £3 per child (includes all crafts)

Location: Chapter House.

Booking information: No need to book – just drop in! Suitable for all ages.

 

Date: Tuesday 25th October & Thursday 27th October

Event: Night time family tours

Blurb: Come and explore the Cathedral at night! Bring your torches and join our family-friendly tour to hear about the amazing history of Exeter Cathedral, with some spooky stories added in!

Times: 6:30 – 7:30

Price: £5 per adult (children free).

Location: Chapter House.

Booking information: Booking essential. Suitable for children aged 5 and up. Not suitable for children who may be scared in the dark.

 

Date: Wednesday 26th October

Event: Cathedral Murder Mystery

Blurb: It’s 1283 and there’s been a murder in the Cathedral! We need YOU to help us solve the mystery and find the murderer. Travel back in time to Medieval Exeter and hear about the foul murder of Walter Lechlade. Hear about the case, and then meet the suspects, who will be hidden around the Cathedral. At the end, the suspects will gather in the Chapter House, where you will be able to accuse and then sentence them.

Times: 10:00 – 11:30; 14:00 – 15:30

Price: £5 per family.

Location: Chapter House.

Booking information: Booking essential. Suitable for children aged 6 and up.

 

Date: Friday 28th October

Event: Exeter Cathedral Light Party!

Blurb: Come and join us for a party in the Chapter house to celebrate the light of Jesus! Come dressed up in your brightest neon outfits, and we will provide the glowsticks! Join in our party games and themed crafts, and finish by exploring the Cathedral with your glow sticks on.

Times: 17:30 – 19:00

Price: £5 per family. A soft drink, biscuits, and sweets are included.

Location: Chapter House.

Booking information: Booking essential. Suitable for ages 4 – 11.
