Our weekly round up of 3 Fun Family Friendly Events in Exeter.
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Dame Hannah’s Newton Abbot
I love it at Dame Hannah’s. Not only is there an amazing charity supporting families with children and adults with learning difficulties. There is also so much to do as a visitor.
There’s lovely cafes, outdoor games, art galleries and studios plus a lovely shop and a huge amount of space to run off some steam on beautiful walks.
As part of the Looking in Wonderland month, come and join in the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on 1st July.
Meet the Mad Hatter and a smoking caterpillar for a tea party, but watch out for the Queen of Hearts – it’s her birthday and you’d better find her some presents or she may get very angry indeed! A chance to meet some of your favourite storybook characters, suitable for children and adults of all ages – don’t be late!
Newtown Community Association 30th Birthday
There’s so much to celebrate in Newtown. Their 30th Birthday Celebrations will feature specially commissioned short plays with a semi-professional casts, live music, and the 10 Mile Community Feast.
Our 30th Birthday Celebrations are taking place in Belmont Park on Saturday 1st July 12pm to 4pm. The event will feature specially commissioned short plays with a semi-professional casts, live music, and the 10 Mile Community Feast. You can bring a dish for the community feast using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and you can also enter your dish in the competition!
Dowsing for Dragons – Kids Fun on Dartmoor
And if Mad Hatters aren’t your cup of tea, how about dragons? Dartmoor’s Daughter will be leading a walk, hunting for dragons and learning all about Leylines and how to dowse with metal rods and pendulums to see if we can find water, hut circles, and ‘dragon lines’.
Dragons are real, yes really. They are usually friendly. But sometimes they can be very fierce and breathe fire if you upset them. There are many myths and legends about dragons living on Dartmoor. Tin-miners used to see ‘dragon’s breath’ vapours coming out of the tin mines.
Which one of these 3 Fun Family Friendly Events in Exeter will you be going to? See you next week – if the dragons haven’t eaten us first.
