Escape to Neverland this Christmas with Exeter Northcott Theatre and the boy who never grew up…

Join Wendy, John and Michael as they soar into the night sky with Peter, to a magical land of mermaids and fairy dust, where children can fly and all sorts of exciting adventures happen every day.  But beware – danger is just around the corner. Captain Hook and the pirates are looking for revenge and Peter Pan is top of their list!

Ernie and the Sea of Ice

Exeter Phoenix

Sun 18 Dec 2016 – Tue 03 Jan 2017

Booking link

Join us, 100 years after Ernest Shackleton’s famous expedition, and follow in the great man’s footsteps with a wonderfully silly and exceptionally inventive tale for all the family.

Setting off on the good ship Endurance with a brave crew, Ernie’s dream comes true – an adventure across the ice to the frozen world of Antarctica. Battling through huge seas and snow storms until…CRACK! The ship gets stuck in the ice. An unbelievable tale of derring-do, pure determination, penguins and Great British spirit!

We’ve booked this already – we are huge Quirk fans and love their sense of humour, imaginative use of sets & props and insanely creative storylines.  Clever, intelligent, hugely funny with the perfect mix of jokes for children and adults too.  Technically for over 5s but we have taken younger children to Quirk productions in the past and they have thoroughly enjoyed the shows.

Cinderella

Get swept away by one of the most enchanting fairy tales of all time, as Wonder Productions brings to the Barnfield Theatre, the most loved pantomime of them all – Cinderella.

This classic rags to riches story tells us of beautiful young girl who is cruelly treated by her jealous Ugly Step-sisters. If she’s to meet her Prince Charming and find true love before the clock strikes midnight, she’ll need all the magic her Fairy Godmother can muster up, along with the help from her best friend Button.

Alice In Wonderland

Exeter Barnfield Theatre

25th – 29th January 2017

Exeter Police & Hospital Players are proud to bring you our 30th anniversary pantomime – Alice in Wonderland.

Alice is returning back down through the rabbit hole, but she gets followed this time by her school teacher, a young beau called Richard and a very nosey villager!

Reaching Wonderland before everyone else, she meets Tweedledum, Tweedledee, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter (at his tea party) and others, and needs all their help to find the Wise Caterpillar who has been captured by the Red Queen. Can they find him and help to set him free? Come along to find out and join in the fun whilst raising funds for our chosen charity for 2017, Dream-A-Way.

According to Arthur

Exeter Barnfield Theatre

14th – 23rd December 2016

Booking link

As the winter snows begin to fall, an old man called Arthur lives all alone in his attic. He never ventures into the outside world; instead he spends all of his time with his only friend – the moon.

But now, Arthur needs your help! On Christmas night, the clouds cover the sky and the moon is nowhere to be seen. Without his friend, Arthur’s life suddenly feels empty, and he feels more alone than ever before.

PaddleBoat Theatre Company invite you to bring your unbounded imagination as together we try to help Arthur find the moon in time for Christmas – with your help, who knows what else he might discover outside his front door…

We saw an early version of this show in the Summer and loved it!  A gentle tale suitable for younger children but with enough bite for older children and adults too.  The accompanying book is sweet too – a much loved favourite in this house.

Snow White & the Seven Dwarves
