Just back from one of LO’s favourite trips of the week, a lovely music and singing class for little children at Kathy’s House in St Thomas.

I love this small class in Kathy’s own house – very gentle yet stimulating and interesting for children up to at least 3.

We started going when LO was just about 4 months and it quickly became a major feature in our weekly rhythm.

The class starts with a sung hello, naming all the children in turn which they really love.

Then we move on to the main part of the session, singing nursery rhymes together.  There is a mixture of old favourites and new (to me) songs.

Sensory play is introduced too, in the form of puppets, ribbons, scarves, feathers etc and there is always a chance for the children to play along on musical instruments.

The children are introduced to a range of musial styles though a single “taped” song each session, accompanied by bubbles to watch and pop.

The class then finishes with tea and coffee and biccies with a chance for the children to play and the adults to chat.

Kathy is now taking booking for next term’s classes and there a very limited spaces on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10am – 11am.

FREE TRIAL SESSION for newcomers and then just £3 per family per session, for the remainder of the half term. Each half term block lasts around 6 weeks.
